Valleybrook Awakens this Spring

As the golf course shows all the signs of coming alive, there are yet other new beginnings springing into being. You have probably noticed some activity beginning in and around your clubhouse and golf course: painting, clean-up, re-organization, carts, and plans for moving ahead under new management.
Valleybrook Golf and Country Club, after many years of being under management other than the owners, will now bolt into 2011 in another direction. “The Drakes”are coming on board to take the Club into a new, updated community and facilities. David Drake, who grew up sprigging the greens as a youth, and who knows just about everything there is to know about Valleybrook from its inception, will again be at Valleybrook helm; joining him in this endeavor in the administration and restoration duties will be Nancy Drake Donelson. Look for us to be on site, busy with the work and tasks of making your Club an even better place.
Many ideas and plans are in the making for a beautified Clubhouse and golf course. The course itself, while in great shape now, will continue to improve under the maintenance of Ron and his staff. Cindy, whom you have all come to rely on, will be a great resource in helping us maneuver what we hope will be a seamless transition. Wendell and his staff in the grill will be adding new menu items, and even some heart healthy choices. All of the staff presently at Valleybrook are valued and will be striving to help us toward excellence of service.
We hope all our members will support us in this very important change, as well as encourage other friends to become members of what is destined to again become a premier course in the Chattanooga area, as it once was. We think you will immediately notice changes, and we welcome your suggestions and input. One exciting plan in the works that I can tell you about is the addition of a new outdoor area, patio, grill, and seating area. The plans are drawn and you may look forward to seeing the architect’s rendering displayed very soon.
